Mt. Holly Model

Today's modular homes are a far reach from the original HUD-code,
manufactured housing of a few decades ago. Modern modular housing
combines state-of-the-art technology with climate-controlled building
conditions. The result are homes that are superior in quality,
strength and design while eliminating the waste and environmental
exposure of site-built housing. And the options aren't boring,
either.
Check out this custom-designed home, for example,
sold in February of this year. This fabulous
two-story home offered 2,240 square feet of living space plus a
fully-finished basement with another 1,050 square feet, for a total of
3,490 square feet of useable home. The basement
was fully
insulated, air conditioned, and upgraded with radiant heating - one of
the most comfortable systems available.
The home featured 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with
an open design to the family room, separate dining and living rooms,
lots of closets, and was complete with flooring throughout.
We upgraded the factory model to include maple kitchen cabinets,
breakfast bar, gas fireplace in the family room, upgraded appliances,
and a garden tub and shower in the master bath.
In addition to the factory-delivered product, we
took it upon
ourselves to provide the following upgrades to this home:
(1) High-efficiency, Energy Star rated units for temperature
control, with two zones for heating and three for cooling. We are
incorporating a
Lifebreath Clean Air furnace, which combines high-efficiency forced
hot air with a fresh air exchanger. The central air system offers
two-stage delivery, with lighter output when only one area of the house
is being cooled and a full output when two or more parts of the house
are being cooled, saving on energy usage.
(2) High-efficiency
Munchkin boiler provides a tank-less hot water system and delivers
the hot water supply to the
Lifebreath furnace,
which the furnace uses to provide heat as it blows steadily-exchanged
fresh air over a series of coils.
(3) In-floor radiant heat in the lower
level finished family room
- a full 26 x 48 feet.
(4) Stained and sealed concrete floor in the lower-level family
room.
(5) 12 x 16 foot rear deck with
TREX decking, as
well as front porch with TREX decking
Additional features of this home
included:
(1) A fully-enclosed fenced-in rear yard.
(2) Two off-street parking spaces.
(3) Full appliance package, including Energy Star rated gas stove,
refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer.
